I draw from adult learning principles and visual design theory to design and create innovative learning content that meets specific needs, and I help organizations articulate those needs. I am experienced in a wide range of tools, including Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Premier Pro, and Canva.
My passion for designing effective learning comes from my experience and understanding of the critical role that learning plays in one's ability to be successful in the workplace. My six year engineering career taught me two main things:Â 1) how to design targeted solutions to meet a need, and 2) that success often depends on the quality of training that employees receive. I understand the tight schedules and stress levels SMEs often face because I used to be one! I also have seen the organizational transformation that is made possible by projects that create or improve training programs. Whether it's e-Learning, instructional videos, work instructions, or job aids, I really believe that investing in creating high-quality training resources allows learners and organizations to level up their success. I became an instructional designer because I want to play a part in producing confident, successful learners that can then carry some of that confidence and success home with them at the end of the day.
When I'm not working on projects, I enjoy writing poetry or fiction, reading/listening to books, playing flag football, hiking, and gaming.
